  • The Nardini Cocktail Mixing Challenge has arrived! Events

    The Nardini Cocktail Mixing Challenge has arrived!

    The Wog With The Grog, the Italian-bred, Australian-based premium alcohol distributor has dreamt up a challenge spirits lovers will devour. The prize for this ultimate liqueur lover’s dream: visiting the oldest grappa distillery in Italy, in Bassano. The exclusive competition is open to wine, food, travel and lifestyle bloggers/media only. The person who emerges as winner will enjoy a trip to Bassano del Grappa, in the region of Veneto, Italy.
    Criteria for entry: email your interest in this exclusive competition, along with your creative, original Nardini cocktail. Entries are open from December 7, 2015, and close on December 24, 2015 so start now on getting your ideas in! The best entries - based on creativity and ingredients used, and chosen at the organiser’s discretion - will be shortlisted and invited to attend a 30 minute mentoring session with The Wog With The Grog.
    STEPS to enter the Nardini Cocktail Mixing Challenge competition:
    STEP 1: Create your cocktail + submit your interest to Robert Dessanti:
    STEP 2: If you are successful, book your 30 minute mentoring session
    STEP 3: Judging of cocktails, and 10 finalists announced
    STEP 4: The 10 finalists will mix their creation at our exclusive aperitivo party at Porsche South Sydney
    STEP 5: Winners announced
    1st PRIZE: Your place in spirit history: a return airfare ticket to Venice, Italy, with car transfer from Venice airport, plus two nights’ accommodation and meals, and a guided visit to the oldest grappa distillery in the world: Nardini, in Bassano. Plus, the winner will enjoy a guided tour of the region and all it has to offer.
    2nd PRIZE: A degustation dinner for 10 people with matching wines to the value $1200.
    3rd PRIZE: A Nardini alcohol pack valued at $500.
    Overview and inspiration for The Nardini Cocktail Mixing Challenge
    In our quest to inspire creativity and skill, there are no strict rules to adhere to; however, the considerations below should be noted by entrants before entering:
    - All cocktail creations must contain Nardini Grappa or liqueur as the base spirit
    - Recipe ingredients should be expressed in millilitres (eg 10ml, 15ml, 30ml, etc), with dashes and/or drops the smallest quantities used
    - Your cocktail creation should be able to tell an inspiring and imaginative story, and be expressed through your original cocktail
    - Your imaginative cocktail should bring to life your skill, passion and creativity
    - Social media is a big part of this campaign; we encourage you to use our hashtags: #thewogwiththegrog and #NardiniCocktailMixingChallenge and #thewogwiththegrogXNardini - in fact, in using them we can track your posts and re-share them, increasing visibility of your social media account and the awareness that you are involved in this fantastic competition

    Pinky: when strawberry sweetness meets our Mezzoemezzo.

    There is nothing better than a good cocktail served on a warm summer evening. Here we offer a fresh recipe based on Mezzoemezzo Nardini, created for us by Nicola Goriup.


    1 scoop of strawberry ice cream - prepared with fresh fruit;

    4 fresh strawberries;

    1 part Mezzoemezzo Nardini;

    1 part Vodka;

    1 part Prosecco.


    1. Combine all ingredients until they are completely blended.

    2. Pour it into a cocktail glass and garnish with a strawberry.

    A fresh, bittersweet after-dinner drink, perfect for a romantic evening or in the company of good friends, with a chat and some music.

    "Torino - Bassano": a union of two traditions, a unique drink.

    If you are looking for a full-bodied, sensational cocktail, you have to try the "Torino - Bassano", created by the guys at Mezzo Vermouteria. The rich taste of vermouth joins the bittersweet citrus flavor of Bitter and is enhanced by the spicy, fruity notes of Tagliatella.

    4,5 cl Vermouth;

    4,5 cl Bitter Nardini;

    1 teaspoon Tagliatella;


    1. Place a few ice cubes in a cocktail glass.

    2. Pour in all the ingredients.

    3. Garnish with lemon peel and orange.

    A simple recipe for a drink that will win you over, perfect to impress your guests!

    The conclusion of a perfect dinner with friends? A grappa sorbet!

    Have you ever heard of SgrAppino ? It’s not a typo, you’ve got it right: a variation of the famous Sgroppino, a refreshing summer cocktail, especially well-known in Venice. Nico Colic, the barman at the Hotel Rivington & Sons Bar Zurich, invented it in our honor!

    Here is the recipe.


    1 scoop of peach sorbet;

    1,5 cl Grappa Nardini;

    5 cl Prosecco wine.


    1. Combine all ingredients in a mixer until they are completely blended.

    2. Pour into a chilled champagne flute.

    3. Garnish with mint and serve with a spoon lying on a saucer. The spoon is useful so that you can re-mix the ingredients with each other before you can enjoy.

    An original idea for an after-dinner drink with friends, a perfect drink to enjoy on these warm summer evenings! If making a sorbet seems complicated, don’t worry. It's easier than you think!

    Three of the leading names of the cocktail world will guide you to discover the origins, influences and cultural differences that make up the special characteristics of liqueurs and bitters, through their different aromatic components and crafting techniques. An important opportunity to find out how to exalt the flavor profile of your cocktails and to create an original tasting experience.

    Francesco Lafranconi, Avery Glasser and Erik Lorincz will reveal new tasting techniques until now unpublished and will take you on a journey to discover the origins and traditions of Italian bitters and liqueurs.

    Nardini Bolle : from Futurism to polibibite

    The Bolle venue is all set for a return to Futurism! That's right, on June 29 we will welcome a special guest for the presentation of his book entitled "Futurist Mixology- Polibibite, the independent Italian answer to cocktails in the 1930s".

    Who is he? Fulvio Piccinino, bartender, scholar and expert on traditional Italian liquor and mixed drinks. He will accompany you on the discovery of the 1920s and 30s, when the artists belonging to the Futurist movement created the most daring and original blends in the history of cocktails using national liquors. Bold, brilliant, and pushing the limits of experimentation, but always respectful of their origins, true declarations of intent and therapies, aimed at socialization, to stimulate conversation, the exchange of ideas and debate.

    You will have the chance to discover mixtures made in those years by various members of Futurism and watch the preparation of some polibibite, placafame and in combination, taken from the 1932 futurist cookbook.

    Bassano meets Tokyo to mix up some cocktails

    Tokyo International Barshow: one of the most anticipated events in Japan by cocktail lovers. Two days of performances by the world’s greatest bartenders mixing, stirring and shaking their way to the hearts of the public with their creations.

    Special guests of the event are the mixologist Julio Bermejo, known worldwide for his "Tommy's Margarita," and Ian Burrell, winner of the Best International Spirits Ambassador in the competition Annual Spirited Awards.

    Nardini will have their products interpreted by the great Mr. Nishida of Kyoto in his own inimitable style.
